This Victorian terrace refurbishment transformed a dark, inefficient home into a light-filled, energy-efficient family residence within a sensitive conservation area. The redesign reconfigured the interior to maximise natural daylight and create a greater sense of space, improving both comfort and wellbeing.

A striking glazed stair tower forms the heart of the sustainable retrofit, providing natural passive cooling and ventilation. Fresh air is drawn in at ground level and rises through the stairwell before being released through automated rooflights, helping to regulate internal temperatures and reduce energy consumption.

Extensive insulation upgrades significantly improved the building’s thermal performance, creating a warmer, more comfortable home while lowering carbon emissions. Central to the project was a commitment to sustainability, with environmentally responsible, recycled, and low-impact materials used throughout the building fabric, structure, and interior finishes.
